The 2025 Silverbird Awards celebrated excellence across various sectors, with Nollywood veterans Richard Mofe-Damijo,RMD Toyin Abraham, and music mogul Michael Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, among the distinguished honorees. The grand event took place on Sunday night at Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos.
The annual award ceremony recognized individuals who have made remarkable contributions to their respective industries. Don Jazzy received the Extraordinary Achievement Award, while RMD was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his decades-long impact on the Nigerian entertainment industry. Toyin Abraham, alongside actor Chidi Mokeme, received the Trailblazer Award, acknowledging their groundbreaking work in Nollywood.
Social media influencer Habeeb Hazmat, widely known as Peller, was recognized as the Influencer of the Year, highlighting the growing influence of digital content creators in Nigeria. The night was a blend of glamour, inspiration, and appreciation for those shaping the country’s cultural and political landscape.
Beyond entertainment, the awards extended to other key sectors. Ekiti State Governor Abiodun Oyebanji was bestowed with the prestigious Silverbird Man of the Year Award for his contributions to governance and leadership. Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah were jointly recognized as the Distinguished Governors of the Year. Their efforts in infrastructural development, economic growth, and public service earned them the esteemed accolade.

Since its inception in 2006, the Silverbird Man of the Year Awards has remained one of Nigeria’s most esteemed recognitions, honouring exceptional figures in business, politics, and entertainment. Over the years, prominent personalities such as P-Square, Olu Jacobs, Aliko Dangote, Akinwumi Adesina, and Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala have been among the celebrated awardees.
