No fewer than 38 commissioners of police have been deployed in the latest reorganisation by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Kayode Egbetokun.
The move is part of ongoing efforts to enhance security operations and reinforce the fight against crime.
Nine Commissioners of Police have been assigned to key state commands, while 29 others have been posted to different police formations.
The strategic reshuffling aims to improve policing, ensure swift response to security threats, and strengthen law enforcement nationwide.
Among those deployed to state commands, CP Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba takes charge of Zamfara, CP Bretet Emmanuel Simon moves to Taraba, and CP Christopher Ado Emmanuel assumes office in Yobe.
Others include CP Olusegun Eyitayo Omosayin for Cross River, CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman for Niger, and CP Sani Omolori Aliyu for Bauchi. Also, CP Bello Shehu has been deployed to Katsina, CP Saka Adewale Ajao to the Federal Capital Territory,FCT, and CP Ojo Adekimi to Kwara State.

The Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, stated that the newly assigned CPs are expected to implement security measures tailored to the unique challenges of their jurisdictions. The deployment is designed to strengthen intelligence-led policing and ensure proactive crime prevention strategies.
Beyond state commands, the additional 29 CPs will oversee various police formations, focusing on critical security concerns across different sectors. The Nigeria Police Force aims to enhance operational efficiency, improve community relations, and maintain law and order across the nation.
The IGP has tasked the newly posted officers with curbing insecurity and ensuring discipline within the force.
