A Navy Lieutenant, Cynthia Akora  and two  others abducted in Mpape, Abuja, have regained their freedom following a successful security operation.

The victims were kidnapped from their residence on Friday night, with the captors demanding ₦100 million in, ransom. Security operatives swiftly launched a coordinated effort to track the criminals and secure the hostages.

Sources within the security sector confirm that the rescue mission was executed without any ransom payment. Though the specifics remain classified, the operation was described as a strategic effort to neutralize the kidnappers’ activities and ensure the victims’ safe return.

The abductors had kept the victims in an undisclosed location while making ransom demands, but intelligence gathering and swift tactical intervention led security forces to their hideout. A confrontation ensued, leading to the successful rescue of the captives.

Following their freedom, the victims are undergoing medical assessment and debriefing. Security agencies remain on high alert, intensifying efforts to track and apprehend the criminals involved.

The incident highlights Nigeria’s ongoing security challenges, particularly the rising cases of kidnapping for ransom. Authorities reaffirm their commitment to combating criminal networks and enhancing public safety.
