Chelsea secured a dramatic 2-1 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage, reviving their push for Champions League football next season.

The Blues, without a win in their previous eight Premier League away games, looked set for another frustrating evening when Alex Iwobi struck early for the hosts.

The Nigerian international took full advantage of Reece James’ error, calmly placing the ball past Djordje Petrović to give Fulham a deserved lead in the first half.

Despite dominating possession, Chelsea struggled to create clear chances, and frustration began to mount. Head coach Enzo Maresca responded with bold substitutions after the break, introducing Jadon Sancho and Malo Gusto to inject pace and precision into the attack.

Their impact was immediate. Chelsea pressed higher, moved the ball faster, and finally found a breakthrough in the 83rd minute.

Tyrique George, just 19, latched onto a loose ball on the edge of the area and drilled a first-time effort into the bottom corner to level the match. It was the academy graduate’s first Premier League goal, and it came at a crucial moment.

As stoppage time approached, Chelsea continued to push forward, and their persistence paid off. Pedro Neto, tightly marked in the box, spun brilliantly and unleashed a half-volley that flew past Bernd Leno. The goal sparked wild celebrations among the traveling fans and completed a remarkable comeback.

While the victory pushes Chelsea into fifth place on goal difference, Fulham remain in ninth, now facing an uphill task to secure European football.

There was, however, a slight concern for Chelsea as Gusto, who made a strong impact after coming on, appeared to suffer a hamstring injury late on and had to be substituted.

Maresca praised his team’s fighting spirit and hinted the performance could mark a turning point in their season.

Chelsea next face Everton in the league before shifting focus to their UEFA Conference League semi-final clash against Djurgårdens IF.

With momentum back on their side, the Blues will be hoping to build on this crucial result in the weeks ahead.
