The All Progressives Congress, APC, has welcomed Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori and his supporters of the party’s full support and collaboration.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday, APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, expressed delight at the governor’s defection from the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, describing it as a significant political milestone for the party in Delta State.
Morka noted that Governor Oborevwori’s defection was accompanied by a wave of high-profile PDP leaders including the state’s immediate past governor and 2023 vice-presidential candidate, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, as well as other senior government officials.
Also joining the APC were members of the State House of Assembly, Local Government Chairmen, Councillors, and other PDP stalwarts across the state.

“Our great party welcomes this important development,” Morka stated. “We assure Governor Oborevwori and all incoming leaders from the PDP of our unwavering support, inclusion, and cooperation within the APC family.”
He added that the growing number of PDP defections, including members of the Delta Unity Group in Ika Federal Constituency, signified a broader shift toward the APC in the state.
“With this move, Delta has now become an APC state, ready to contribute robustly to the success of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and to the broader prosperity of the Nigerian people,” Morka concluded.
Governor Oborevwori’s defection is viewed as a critical moment in Delta State’s political landscape, with the APC positioning itself as the new dominant force in the region.
