Governor Umaru Bago of Niger State has revised the curfew imposed on the movement of motorcycles and tricycles within the Minna metropolis, shifting the restriction hours to between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
This update was disclosed in a statement signed by Malam Ibrahim Bologi, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.
Governor Bago explained that the adjustment followed recent recommendations from the state’s security committee, which evaluated the security situation in the capital.
According to him, the government remains committed to striking a balance between public safety and the daily livelihood needs of residents.

“The decision to adjust the curfew is informed by the latest security intelligence. We will continue to work closely with the security committee to monitor developments and take further action as needed,” he stated.
The governor called on residents to remain law-abiding and assured them that his administration is focused on implementing people-oriented policies that enhance safety and social wellbeing.
The original curfew, enforced on April 23, had restricted the movement of commercial motorcycles and tricycles from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. as part of efforts to curb a rise in thuggery and insecurity in the state capital.
Authorities say the revised curfew maintains the state’s vigilance while easing the impact on daily transportation and economic activities.
