Inter Milan has booked a place in the UEFA Champions League final after a heart-stopping 7–6 aggregate victory over FC Barcelona, capping off one of the most thrilling semi-final ties in recent memory.

The second leg, held at the iconic San Siro stadium in Milan, saw both clubs deliver football at its most dramatic, ending regular time at 3–3—mirroring the result from the first leg in Spain—and heading into extra time for a winner to emerge.

The match began with electric intensity as Inter Milan, cheered on by a passionate home crowd, took control early.

The Nerazzurri stunned the visitors with two quick goals before halftime, creating a strong 2–0 lead and a two-goal cushion in the aggregate scoreline.

However, true to their legacy of resilience, FC Barcelona returned from the break with renewed determination. Within minutes, they broke through Inter’s backline, with veteran midfield orchestrators and young star Lamine Yamal combining to devastating effect.

Barcelona’s comeback was completed in the 87th minute, when they took a 3–2 lead, swinging the aggregate score to 6–5 in their favor.

But Inter Milan was not done. In a moment of sheer resolve, the Italian side found an equalizer in the dying moments of regular time. The stadium erupted as the teams headed into extra time locked at 6–6 on aggregate, with everything to play for in the additional 30 minutes.

The breakthrough came in the 98th minute when Inter’s talismanic striker capitalized on a defensive lapse from the fatigued Barcelona backline to score the decisive goal, making it 3–3 on the night and 7–6 across both legs.

From that point on, it was a tactical battle of endurance and nerve. Barcelona pushed forward relentlessly, with Yamal and other attacking options probing for an opening, but Inter’s defense—led by a commanding performance from their goalkeeper and central defenders—held firm.

By the final whistle, Inter Milan had not only survived the onslaught but emerged victorious from one of the most emotionally charged and physically demanding matches of the tournament. The result sends the Italian giants into their first UEFA Champions League final since 2010, reigniting hopes of European glory.

This win underscores Inter’s return to elite European football and highlights the depth, discipline, and resilience that have defined their campaign.

For Barcelona, it was a heartbreaking exit, especially after showcasing such attacking flair and spirit, but their young squad—particularly 16-year-old Lamine Yamal—won plaudits for their performance and promise.

Inter Milan will now await the outcome of the second semi-final fixture to determine their opponent in the final, where they’ll look to add a fourth European title to their storied history.
