The Kogi State House of Assembly has threatened to issue a bench warrant for the arrest of Hajiya Aishat Oyiza Omade, Director General of the Kogi State Social Investment Programme Agency, KOSSIPA, for alleged repeated acts of insubordination.
This threat follows Omade’s failure to honour the Assembly’s directive to appear before its Standing Committee on Special Duties, Legislative Compliance, Government House Administration, and the Governor’s Office.
She was summoned to attend the legislative session on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, after previously being ordered to appear on April 30 with vital documents, including her educational credentials—materials she reportedly pledged to provide during her confirmation as State Coordinator.

The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf, emphasized that the current Assembly will not condone defiance from unelected public officials. He stressed that appointees must respect the legislative institution’s authority.
“Anywhere she is, let her appear before this Honourable House on May 7, 2025,” the Speaker declared firmly during plenary. “Any appointee of government who was not elected by the people must follow and obey the directive of this House. Failure to do so will lead us to invoke the constitutional powers vested in us.”
The embattled DG is said to have ignored multiple invitations over several months, sparking tensions between the executive and legislative arms of the Kogi State government.
The Assembly has now hinted at deploying its constitutional powers if Omade fails to comply with the latest summons.
