Popular Nigerian media mogul Linda Ikeji has once again found herself at the center of social media debates after revealing her preference between two of Nigeria’s most iconic music stars, Wizkid and Davido.

The billionaire blogger made her choice public during a recent appearance on the Pulse Fun Facts Show, a lighthearted entertainment segment that features celebrity interviews filled with quirky questions.

While the show’s atmosphere was relaxed, Linda’s response to one particular question stirred significant online reactions. When asked to choose between the Grammy-winning Afrobeats stars Davido and Wizkid, the 44-year-old single mother did not hesitate. “Davido,” she responded firmly, then added emphatically, “By far.”

Her definitive answer sent ripples across social media, not just because of her boldness, but also because of the well-documented feud between herself and Wizkid that dates back to 2016. Many viewers saw the statement as a deliberate jab at the Essence hitmaker, rekindling interest in a saga that had seemingly cooled off over the years.

The Linda-Wizkid fallout began when Ikeji published a story alleging that Wizkid had been issued a quit notice from a Lekki apartment he had falsely claimed to own. The singer reacted furiously, making derogatory comments and issuing threats against the blogger, which eventually led Linda to report the matter to the police. The incident was one of the most publicized media-celebrity clashes in Nigeria at the time.

During the same Pulse interview, Linda also spoke candidly about her life, media persona, and social media habits. She addressed the common perception of her as a gossip blogger, saying that while she understands where the label comes from, she separates her public blogging persona from her private self.

When asked to choose between Instagram and TikTok, she leaned toward Instagram, saying that TikTok’s content seems more tailored to Gen Z audiences. “Instagram is more my speed,” she said, with a laugh.

Her comments about Davido and Wizkid, however, overshadowed the rest of the interview. While Davido’s fans praised her for choosing their favorite, Wizkid FC, as the latter’s fanbase is known, were quick to criticize her for bringing old issues back into the spotlight. Some accused her of being petty, while others defended her right to express her honest opinion.

Interestingly, Linda’s admiration for Davido could be seen as part of a broader pattern. In recent years, the Timeless crooner has gained widespread affection for his consistency, philanthropic gestures, and public transparency, qualities Linda herself has often celebrated in blog posts.

As the clip continues to circulate, fans on both sides have reignited debates over which artist truly reigns supreme in Afrobeats. But for Linda Ikeji, her answer is clear—and unapologetically “Davido by far.”

Whether this latest declaration will reopen old wounds or simply add fuel to the ongoing rivalry between two of Nigeria’s biggest stars remains to be seen.
