The President of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture, NACCIMA, Mr. Jani Ibrahim has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari describing it as a profound national loss and the end of a defining era in Nigeria’s leadership.

In a condolence message issued in Abuja on behalf of NACCIMA and the Organised Private Sector of Nigeria, which he also chairs, Ibrahim paid tribute to Buhari’s contributions to economic reform, infrastructural development, and regional stability.

“The demise of President Buhari marks the end of an era of dedicated service, unwavering patriotism, and steadfast leadership in Nigeria and across West Africa,” he said.

Ibrahim noted that Buhari’s administration was marked by deliberate efforts to reposition the economy through initiatives like the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council and the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan.

He also highlighted the government’s work in improving infrastructure, including railway modernization, road networks, and diversification efforts beyond oil dependency.

“His support for agriculture, energy, and transportation sectors laid a foundation for long-term growth. The private sector especially appreciated the reforms that enhanced the ease of doing business,” Ibrahim added.

Beyond Nigeria’s borders, the NACCIMA president hailed Buhari’s role in fostering peace and economic cooperation through the Economic Community of West African States, calling him “a respected figure in regional diplomacy and democratic governance.”

Describing the late President as a reliable partner of the business community, Ibrahim emphasized the collaborative policy dialogue between the Buhari administration and the Organised Private Sector.

“As we mourn, we must uphold the values of integrity, discipline, and selfless service that Buhari represented. His pragmatic leadership will be sorely missed,” he said.

He concluded by praying that Almighty Allah grants Buhari eternal rest in Aljannah Firdaus and grants his family, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and all Nigerians the strength to bear the loss.

“President Muhammadu Buhari’s legacy will remain a guiding light for our nation,” he affirmed.
