Galatasaray is set to hold a much-anticipated signing ceremony for Victor Osimhen during their home match against Lazio at RAMS Park Stadium on Saturday, August 2.
The Nigerian striker, who has made a tremendous impact on the team during his loan spell, will complete a permanent transfer from Napoli in a deal worth €75 million the most expensive in Turkish football history.
The transfer agreement includes an upfront payment of €40 million to Napoli, with the remaining €35 million due by the end of 2026. Osimhen is expected to sign a three-year contract with Galatasaray, earning an annual salary of approximately €16 million, positioning him among the highest-paid players in the Süper Lig. The deal also carries a 10% sell-on clause for Napoli and a two-year restriction preventing Osimhen from returning immediately to Serie A.
In the 2024–25 season, Osimhen was instrumental for Galatasaray, starring in 41 matches with 37 goals and eight assists. His remarkable performances helped Galatasaray secure a league and cup double, quickly earning him cult hero status among fans.
Despite lucrative offers from clubs such as Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal—who offered €160 million—and interest from major Premier League teams, Osimhen chose to commit his future to Galatasaray. His decision captivated the club’s supporters and highlighted his deep connection with the city and club.

Beyond football, Osimhen has shared personal insights from his challenging upbringing in Lagos, Nigeria. In a heartfelt video, he spoke of growing up in a single room shared by his family of nine, recalling early hardships and the determination that fueled his journey to football stardom.
“Most people who know me know that I would have succeeded even without football,” he said. “But the conditions where I grew up were far from encouraging… Whatever you want, you have to fight for it.” This story resonated widely, reflecting the resilience behind his rise to prominence.
Galatasaray’s announcement and unveiling of Osimhen will be a highlight of their preseason preparations, as they look forward to strengthening their attacking options for the upcoming domestic and European campaigns. The club expects a packed stadium for the Lazio match, where fans will witness the formal presentation of their record signing.
This historic signing underscores Galatasaray’s ambition to compete at the highest levels in Europe, signaling both financial clout and sporting intent. As the August 2 date approaches, anticipation continues to build among supporters eager to welcome back their star striker in full official capacity.
