A fatal accident occurred at Four Corner in Enugu State when a Dangote trailer allegedly rammed into a saloon car Wednesday.
Eyewitnesses said the impact triggered an explosion that engulfed the vehicle in flames. Four occupants of the car were trapped inside and burnt alive before help could arrive.
The tragedy, which happened this morning, caused panic and gridlock along the Enugu–Port Harcourt Expressway as commuters and residents gathered at the scene.
As of Wednesday afternoon, the Enugu State Police Command and the Federal Road Safety Corps had yet to release an official statement on the incident.
On May 20,a Dangote truck suffered brake failure along the Kugbo–Nyanya Expressway in Abuja. The vehicle rammed into a J5 bus and a dispatch rider, leaving at least three people critically injured, though no deaths were recorded.

In July 2025, tragedy struck in Auchi, Edo State, when Ruth Otabor, sister of Big Brother Naija winner Phyna, was knocked down by a Dangote truck.
She underwent surgery that led to the amputation of her leg but later died from complications, drawing widespread reactions on social media.
On August 17, another Dangote Cement truck was involved in a collision on the Auchi–Okpella–Okene Road, directly in front of Omega Fire Ministries.
A Mercedes-Benz GLK carrying three people was crushed, and all passengers died instantly.
Though investigations later pointed to another truck as the trigger, the incident sparked protests in Auchi over repeated accidents involving Dangote vehicles.
The recent Enugu crash, has once again drawn attention to the recurring dangers posed by heavy-duty trucks on Nigerian highways, with growing calls for stricter regulations and improved enforcement of road safety standards.
