The United State and United Kingdom signed a Tech Prosperity Deal in London Thursday, launching record $340bn investments across technology, energy, and trade

President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer hailed the agreement as the most ambitious in their nations’ history, setting the stage for record-breaking investments across technology and energy.

Starmer described the package as “the biggest investment deal of its kind in British history by a country mile,” highlighting £250 billion ($340 billion) in commitments flowing both ways across the Atlantic.

The prime minister said the package will directly create up to 15,000 jobs in the U.K., particularly in the fields of artificial intelligence, clean energy, and quantum computing.

The deal includes major contributions from leading American technology companies. Microsoft pledged $30 billion to expand data centers, while Google committed $6.8 billion to AI projects.

U.S. investment giant Blackstone is set to pour £90 billion ($122 billion) into the U.K. over the next decade, and pharmaceutical giant GSK announced nearly $30 billion in fresh investment into U.S. operations.

To support the technology surge, Starmer confirmed that 12 advanced nuclear reactors will be built in northeast England, expected to power millions of homes and businesses.

He stressed that the development would not only reduce energy bills but also strengthen energy security “on both sides of the Atlantic.”

Trump highlighted “quantum computing, fusion, 6G, and civil nuclear energy” as priority areas of cooperation. He praised the “unbreakable bond” between the two countries, declaring that the U.S. and U.K. “have done more good on this planet than any two nations in human history.”

The president also paid tribute to the warm reception he received in Britain, thanking Starmer and his wife, Victoria, for hosting him at Chequers.

He also lauded King Charles III and Queen Camilla for welcoming him and First Lady Melania Trump to Windsor Castle, describing the state banquet as “fantastic.”

The Tech Prosperity Deal builds on an earlier trade agreement signed in May, which eliminated tariffs on steel and aluminum, expanded U.S. agricultural exports into the U.K., and sped up customs procedures for American goods.

Trump recalled that Britain became “the first country to make a trade deal with the United States during my second term,” calling it a testament to the strength of the transatlantic partnership.

Starmer echoed this sentiment, saying the latest deal marked “a blueprint to win this new era” and would secure “cutting-edge British jobs for years to come.”
