The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Kano State Command, has decorated 116 newly promoted personnel and 184 Road Marshal Assistants in the state.
The State FRSC Sector Commander, Muhammed Bature, disclosed this in a statement signed by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Labaran on Friday in Kano
Bature was quoted as charging the officers and marshals to see their elevation as a call to higher responsibility and dedication to duty.
“The promotion reflected the Corps’ commitment to its vision of ensuring safer roads and reducing road crashes across the country.
“A total of 116 personnel of the Command were decorated in their respective formations across the state, following the recent nationwide promotion exercise approved by the Corps.
“Also, 33 officers were elevated to various ranks, ranging from Assistant Corps Commander, ACC, to Assistant Route Commander, ARC.
“Aldo, 83 marshal inspectors were promoted, while 184 road marshal assistants were also elevated to higher ranks,” he said.
Bature assured the public that the promotions would further strengthen command’s operations and improve road safety management in Kano State
He commended the Corps Marshal for recognizing the hard work of staff, stating that the gesture would boost Thiet morale and enhance service delivery.
The ceremony was attended by Heads of Departments, Unit Commanders, and family members of the decorated personnel.

The Corps Marshal further stressed the importance of crash reduction and prompt emergency response, noting that all efforts of the Corps are measured by success in preventing road traffic crashes and providing effective post-crash care.
He also commended road safety stakeholders, particularly the media, for continually promoting the ideals of a safer road environment, describing it as a collective responsibility.
In his goodwill message, the Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Pension, Honorable Olaide Lateef Mohammed, congratulated the newly decorated officers and commended the Corps Marshal for conducting a transparent promotion exercise that met the expectations of the personnel.
He encouraged the officers to excel in their new roles and assured that the House of Representatives will continue to support the FRSC in fulfilling its statutory responsibilities. As a former FRSC staff member, he emphasized the significance of the recently passed FRSC amendment bill and urged officers to continually develop themselves for greater national roles, even after retirement.
Speaking on behalf of the newly promoted officers, Corps Commander Ameen Rahman expressed gratitude to the Management for their elevation. He pledged improved dedication and loyalty and praised Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed for staff capacity development initiatives that have boosted morale and addressed long-standing promotion issues.
He described the Corps Marshal as “God sent” to the FRSC, citing the positive impacts of his leadership on the harmonization of officers’ ranks.
The regimental decoration ceremony took place at the Corps Marshal’s Conference Hall at the FRSC National Headquarters, Abuja. It was attended by principal officers of the Corps as well as representatives from other military and paramilitary organizations. Two officers were decorated to the rank of Corps Commander, CC, and another two to the rank of Deputy Corps Commander, DCC.
