The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Lagos State has announced a ₦20 million cash prize for the local government area that records the highest number of registered voters in the ongoing INEC CVR exercise.
The Lagos APC Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, made the announcement on Tuesday during the 2025 State APC Stakeholders Forum in Lagos.
He said the initiative was aimed at encouraging active voter participation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Ojelabi explained that the reward system would operate at three levels — ₦1 million for the polling unit with the highest registration, ₦5 million for the top-performing ward, and ₦20 million for the leading local government area
. “The competition has begun,” he declared, urging party members across the state to mobilise residents to register and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards.
He emphasised that commitment to the party alone would not translate to electoral success unless members ensured they were eligible to vote.
“No matter the love anyone has for our party, without the PVC, that support means nothing at the polls,” he added.
Ojelabi also called for unity among party leaders, noting that the APC would soon embark on a statewide tour to strengthen mobilisation and ensure every eligible voter in Lagos was reached.

“Our party remains the darling of the nation. We appreciate your loyalty and do not take your support for granted,” he said, commending members for standing by the APC’s vision of restoring the nation’s prosperity under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
In his remarks, APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, represented by the National Secretary, Dr. Ajibola Basiru, urged party leaders to work tirelessly to achieve at least 85 percent voter turnout in 2027.
He also announced a “train-the-trainer” workshop scheduled for November 3–4 to further educate members on government policies and achievements.
Former Lagos State Governor Mr. Babatunde Fashola, SAN, in a keynote address titled “Voter Apathy and the Sanctity of Elections in Nigeria’s Budding Democracy,” urged the party to address the declining voter turnout despite rising registration figures.
He reminded stakeholders that Lagos once produced over 1.5 million votes in an election and challenged them to reignite that level of enthusiasm.
Fashola encouraged the party to transform its renewed hope slogan into renewed voter enthusiasm. The forum, attended by senators, federal lawmakers, cabinet members, and traditional rulers, ended with renewed pledges to drive grassroots participation and strengthen APC’s dominance in Lagos and beyond.
