Barcelona have reportedly begun exploring major transfer options as they plan for a future without veteran striker Robert Lewandowski, whose contract runs until 2026 but whose long-term role at the club is becoming increasingly uncertain.
According to Turkish sports pundit Erbatur Ergenekon, the Catalan giants have identified two of the biggest names in world football — Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen and Manchester City superstar Erling Haaland — as potential successors for the centre-forward role.
The speculation emerged during a discussion on Now Spor, where Ergenekon explained that Barcelona’s technical department has started evaluating top-tier options capable of leading their attack for the next decade.
With Lewandowski now in the twilight of his career, Barcelona are reportedly prioritising a dynamic and prolific number 9 who can fit into Xavi’s evolving tactical structure.
Ergenekon noted that while Barcelona previously focused on strengthening their defence, particularly at centre-back, the club is now shifting its attention to the attacking line.
“Last season, if they had asked me to make a transfer to Barcelona, I would have said a centre-back,” he said. “A similar process is ongoing, but now we can add a centre-forward to that list.”
Among the names being discussed, Osimhen stands out as one of Europe’s most sought-after forwards. The Nigerian striker, known for his pace, aerial ability, and aggressive style, has been a transfer target for several top clubs after consistently delivering high-level performances.
His energy and physical presence would add a new dimension to Barcelona’s frontline.

Ergenekon stressed that Barcelona are prepared to allocate significant funds to secure an elite striker next year, noting that the club’s hierarchy understands the importance of replacing Lewandowski with a world-class alternative.
While financial challenges have restricted Barcelona in recent seasons, the pursuit of a marquee striker indicates a potential transfer strategy focused on long-term rebuilding.
