The African Action Congress , AAC, governorship candidate in the November 8, 2025 Anambra State election, Chioma Ifemeludike said she is not interested in any political appointment, insisting her focus is on accountability, good governance, equity, and the empowerment of the people.
Speaking during a post-election press conference and a “lunch time hangout” with her 292 voters at Golphins Suites, Awka, on Saturday, Ifemeludike expressed gratitude to her supporters.
“This is to thank the 292 people who voted for me during the governorship election. Today, I stand before you with a heart full of gratitude,” she said. “This gathering is a testimony of courage, resilience, and the power of people who believe in a better Anambra.”
She further reiterated, “I did not run for the election because I was looking for fame, nor for any political appointment. My conviction to achieve a better Anambra drove me to run.”
On why she has not congratulated the declared winner, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance Ifemeludike cited massive electoral irregularities and vote-buying during the poll.
“I will not send a congratulatory message to anybody because the election was marred with irregularities and widespread vote-buying. Doing so would amount to accepting illegalities,” she said, calling for a thorough investigation by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
