DR Congo has defeated Nigeria by penalty shoot out in a World Cup play-off final. The match ended 1-1 before two rounds of penalties saw the elimination of Super Eagles by 4-3 goals.
After two contrasting semi-final ties on Thursday, the Super Eagles and the Leopards meet at the Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat, Morocco, tonight but only one can keep their World Cup dream alive.
Nigeria, who required extra-time to overcome Gabon as a brace from Victor Osimhen helped secure a 4-1 win, looked to have suffered a massive blow ahead of the crucial play-off final with Wilfred Ndidi ruled out due to suspension, but CAF clarified on the eve of this showdown that the defensive midfielder was available as accumulated yellow cards reset before the play-offs.
