The Chief of Air Staff, CAS, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, has reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to intensifying air strikes against terrorists while restoring public confidence amid growing security concerns.
According to a statement by the NAF Director of Public Relations, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Aneke made the declaration during his first operational visit to the North East Operation Hadin Kai, OPHK, at the NAF Base in Maiduguri.
The CAS emphasized that the current moment demands “renewed strength, unity, and decisive action,” assuring Nigerians that the Air Force would step up precision strikes, expand intelligence-driven missions, and deepen coordination with ground forces.
Addressing frontline airmen, Aneke commended their resilience, courage, and professionalism, calling the Air Component and the 105 Composite Group a “driving force” in counter-insurgency operations. He urged personnel to maintain offensive momentum, stating, “We must stay on the offensive. The nation sees your sacrifice and stands behind you.”
Aneke’s visit also focused on assessing conditions at the frontlines and improving combat effectiveness. He reiterated his “Welfare for Enhanced Warfare” philosophy, promising strengthened logistics, improved medical and administrative support, and sustained operational allowances for airmen.
“The NAF will fly smarter and strike harder,” he said, adding that his leadership would prioritize intelligence-led missions, precision targeting, and enhanced joint operations.
