The Bauchi State Civil Service Commission has suspended four senior officers for alleged misconduct as part of ongoing efforts to uphold integrity and accountability within the state civil service.
In a statement issued on Friday by the commission’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Saleh Umar, the officials were interdicted during a plenary session aimed at sanitising the civil service.
The affected officers include Garba Hussaini, Director of Education and former Provost; Haruna Umar, Deputy Director of Administration and Human Resources; Umar Yusuf, Chief Executive Officer (Account)—Bursar; and Mohammed Usman, Chief Clerical Officer—Cashier.
All are attached to the Bill and Melinda Gates College of Health Sciences Technology in Ningi Local Government Area.
Umar explained that the suspension comes with a reduction of their salaries to 50 percent from October 28, 2025, pending the conclusion of a full investigation.
The officers face allegations of gross misconduct that violate Bauchi State Public Service Regulations – 0327 (x) and (xxii), and their suspension under rules 0329 (i), (ii), and (iii) ensures they are distanced from their duties for a smooth investigation.

“The commission took this decision to allow further investigation into the allegations,” Umar stated.
While enforcing disciplinary measures, the commission also promoted 21 officers across various grades, including deputy chief librarians, assistant chief librarians, principal librarians, assistant chief executive officers, and chief confidential secretaries.
These promotions span grade levels 10 to 15, reflecting the commission’s commitment to rewarding performance and professionalism.
Dr. Ibrahim Muhammad, Chairman of the commission, reaffirmed the body’s dedication to transparency, fairness, and the rule of law.
He expressed concern over the nonchalant attitude of some civil servants who ignore disciplinary protocols, urging all workers to adhere to rules and regulations in carrying out their duties.
This action follows a previous dismissal of two senior government officials in September 2025 for forgery, which contravened State Public Service Rule 0327.
According to the commission, maintaining discipline and integrity within the civil service is essential to ensure efficient governance and public trust.
