President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has named Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma as the Renewed Hope Ambassador, a strategic appointment designed to strengthen the Federal Government’s grassroots engagement ahead of the launch of the Ward Development Programme.
The announcement places Uzodimma at the centre of a nationwide mobilisation effort aimed at deepening public understanding of the administration’s achievements and policy priorities.
Beyond his role as ambassador, Governor Uzodimma has also been appointed Director-General for Party Outreach, Engagement, and Mobilisation.
In this dual capacity, he will work closely with the All Progressives Congress leadership and governors to unify communication structures, coordinate messaging, and build stronger links between the government and citizens across the federation.
His additional position as chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum further positions him as a key bridge between state leaders and the federal administration.
The Renewed Hope Ambassador initiative forms part of the Tinubu administration’s broader strategy to consolidate political support as it navigates major reforms introduced since the president assumed office in May 2023.
According to Tinubu, the government has already recorded notable gains in economic stabilisation, including the reduction of inflation to 16.05% in October, a steadier foreign exchange market, and foreign reserves exceeding $46 billion.
These indicators, he said, reflect improving investor confidence in sectors such as oil, gas, solid minerals, and manufacturing.
Other milestones highlighted by the presidency include the strong performance of the stock market, reforms that have improved the speed of passport processing, and expanded access to educational loans, with more than 700,000 students now benefiting from the newly structured system.

Tinubu emphasised that the public must not only be informed but fully understand how these reforms tie into the broader Renewed Hope agenda.
By appointing Uzodimma, the president is signalling a push toward better policy communication and enhanced grassroots coordination.
The governor and other APC leaders designated as Ambassadors of Hope are expected to foster party unity, ensure inclusive participation, and promote a coordinated outreach strategy across Nigeria’s states.
Tinubu charged Uzodimma with the responsibility of ensuring that citizens are aware of the administration’s progress and remain informed about the objectives of the Ward Development Programme and other federal interventions.
The initiative is expected to intensify engagement between government institutions and communities as key projects roll out nationwide.
