The Department of State Service, DSS, has intercepted a medical doctor who allegedly supplied drugs from Sokoto State to kidnappers’ hideouts in some parts of Kwara State.
Already, the secret operatives have commenced a full interrogation of the doctor to gather more information about the business.
THISDAY checks and investigations revealed that the doctor was intercepted in the Jebba area in the Moro local government area of the state following intelligence reports about the activities of the kidnappers and their couriers.
It was gathered that the suspected bandits were said to be in desperation for medical care following gunshot wounds sustained in encounters with security forces before the secret operatives arrested the medical doctor that has been ferrying drugs for medical treatment for the kidnappers in the state.
Sources close to the DSS who sought anonymity told journalists in Ilorin on Friday that, “We are advising improved security measures in health facilities in thickly forested areas which the kidnappers may target.”

“This development has assisted us to discover those that have been involved in the medical attention of the kidnappers, and this has finally paved the way to arrest a medical doctor that has been supplying drugs for the medical attention of the kidnappers.
“And we have commenced full interrogation on the medical doctor so as to know how he works on the deal, as this will help us more.
“As soon as we complete this interrogation of the medical doctor, he may be arraigned before the court of law.”
However, a senior secret operative in the state who sought anonymity confirmed the arrest of a medical doctor that has been supplying drugs from Sokoto State to kidnappers in parts of Kwara State.
He said, “I want to tell you that he is in our custody, and he is helping us on our investigation on his supplying of drugs to kidnappers in parts of Kwara State for medical treatment.”
