Heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua  has survived in a road accident in Ogun State, Nigeria.

According to reports, two people died in the incident that occurred in Makun, Ogun State, along the busy Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The vehicle conveying the Nigerian-born British boxer was said to have collided with another car under circumstances that are yet to be fully established.

Popular social media platform Nigeria Stories (@NigeriaStories) reported the incident, stating:
“BREAKING NEWS: World-renowned boxer Anthony Joshua was involved in a road accident today in Makun, Ogun State. Eyewitnesses report that the incident occurred along a busy highway of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.”

As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official statement from Anthony Joshua or his management team, and details regarding the extent of the incident or any injuries remain unclear.

The reported accident comes shortly after Joshua’s recent high-profile heavyweight bout against YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in Miami.

The fight, streamed live on Netflix from the Kaseya Center, attracted an estimated average minute audience of 33 million global Live+1 viewers, according to figures released by Netflix and Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) on December 23, 2025.
