The Nigerian Air Force, NAF, has recorded a major operational breakthrough in the fight against banditry in the North-West with two successful precision air interdiction missions carried out in Zamfara State.
The Air Component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Sector 2, conducted the coordinated strikes on Sunday at Turba Hill and Kachalla Dogo Sule’s Camp in Tsafe Local Government Area, following credible intelligence from multiple sources.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the airstrikes were aimed at dismantling key bandit enclaves linked to recent violent attacks across the region.
He explained that NAF air assets were deployed to degrade the combat capabilities of the criminal groups and to deny them safe havens used for planning and launching attacks.
The first strike targeted Turba Hill, identified as a confirmed bandit hideout and a strategic location within the criminal network. During the operation, a zinc-roofed structure that served as a central operational facility was completely destroyed.
Post-strike assessments confirmed the neutralisation of several bandits and the total destruction of the targeted structure, significantly disrupting activities within the enclave.

The second mission focused on Kachalla Dogo Sule’s Camp, a notorious operational base known for the manufacturing of improvised explosive devices, IEDs.
The camp has been linked to multiple attacks along the Dan Sadau–Magami axis in Zamfara State.
Multiple active structures within the camp were engaged during the strike, resulting in intense fires that destroyed critical facilities. Several bandits were neutralised, effectively crippling the group’s capacity to produce and deploy IEDs.
Air Commodore Ejodame said the successful operations represented a significant setback for bandit networks operating in Zamfara, particularly in their ability to sustain coordinated attacks using explosive devices.
He added that the airstrikes underscored the Nigerian Air Force’s unwavering commitment to supporting joint military operations under Operation FANSAN YAMMA, in collaboration with other security agencies.
Ejodame stressed that the NAF would continue to apply decisive air power to deny criminal elements freedom of action, while supporting ongoing efforts to restore lasting peace and security across the North-West and the country at large.
