KwarThe Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development has introduced a radio-based learning initiative aimed at expanding learning access beyond the conventional classroom.
Press Secretary, Mr Peter Amogbonjaye disclosed that the initiative, which will commence on Jan. 5, underscores the creativity of the Kwara Government.
According to him, it is supported by the United Nations Children’s Fund, UNICEF, as well as the Nigeria Learning Passport.
He added that the Commissioner, Dr Lawal Olohungbebe, had said the radio programme will run on 99.1 Midland FM at 11 a.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays, then at 1 p.m. on Wednesdays, and at 2.30 p.m. on Fridays.

“Additional radio stations will soon be added to widen access across the state,” he said.
The statement also said that the Commissioner has ordered the reopening of schools in the state on Monday, Jan. 5, with the exception of areas undergoing special security measures.
“We welcome our children and teachers back to school across the state. Learning activities are to resume immediately in all but areas earlier identified to be under special security surveillance. This structured school resumption is designed to keep our children from harm’s way amid renewed security operations. Normal school activities will resume in such places very soon,” he added.
