The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has ordered the posting of several senior officers to key positions within Force Headquarters and federal departments in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

An internal circular from the Force Secretary indicated that the redeployment affects senior officers across multiple directorates and specialised units. The new postings are as follows:

  • DIG Zachariah Fera Achinyan – Department of Legal Services, DLS, FHQ Abuja
  • DIG Zango Ibrahim Baba – Department of Research & Planning, R&P, FHQ Abuja
  • DIG Isyaku Mohammed – Department of Training and Development, DTD, FHQ Abuja
  • DIG Margaret Ochalla – Force Criminal Investigation Department, FCID, Abuja
  • DIG Mohammed Sulaiman – Department of Finance and Administration, DFA, FHQ Abuja
  • DIG Kenechukwu Aig Onwuemelie – Force Intelligence Department, FID, Abuja
  • DIG Fayoade Adegoke Mustapha – Department of Information and Communication Technology, DICT, FHQ Abuja
  • DIG Umar Shehu Nadada – Department of Operations, DOPS, FHQ Abuja

The directive, classified as “most immediate,” was circulated across multiple commands, departments, and specialised units of the Nigeria Police, including border patrol, maritime, anti-bomb, K9, and various state commands. Officers were instructed to update internal records to reflect the new postings.

The Nigeria Police Force confirmed that the reshuffle is part of routine administrative measures aimed at enhancing operational efficiency across the Force.

The postings clarified earlier speculations regarding DIG Fayoade Adegoke Mustapha. Contrary to reports suggesting he would head the FCID, the department was assigned to DIG Margaret Ochalla, while Fayoade was redeployed to lead the ICT Department.
