The Omupo Descendants Union, ODU, has congratulated its General Secretary, Alhaji Tajudeen Olayinka Adigun, on his appointment as the Balogun Musulumi of Omupo Land, describing he elevation as a recognition of his commitment to Islam and service to the community.
In a statement issued by the National Publicity Secretary of the Union, Mustafa Abubakar, ODU said the honour conferred on Adigun by the Olomu of Omupo Land, Oba Muhammed-Yakubu Adebayo Buari, Ilufemiloye II, reflected the confidence reposed in him by the traditional institution and the people of the town.
The Union said Adigun’s emergence as Balogun Musulumi would strengthen religious harmony, promote moral values and enhance communal cohesion in Omupo Land.
It also prayed for divine guidance for the new appointee and urged him to continue to uphold the virtues of integrity, dedication and selfless service in the discharge of his new responsibilities.
“May Almighty Allah grant him the wisdom, strength and guidance required to excel in this esteemed position,” the statement added.

ODU further expressed pride in the achievement and wished Adigun a successful and impactful tenure.
Reacting to his appointment, Adigun expressed gratitude to the Olomu of Omupo Land, the leadership and members of the Omupo Muslim Ummah, and all sons and daughters of the town for considering him worthy of the position.
He said the appointment came to him as a surprise and described it as a heavy responsibility that had left him humbled and challenged.
According to him, the late Alhaji Abdul Fatai Aremu, who previously held the title, left behind a strong legacy which he would strive to sustain.
Adigun said he was inspired to accept the responsibility in memory of the late Islamic leader, whom he described as a very good friend, pledging to give his best to keep the flag flying.
He called for the support of all sons and daughters of Omupo to advance the practice of Islam in the community and ensure positive impact on the well-being and prosperity of the people and the town.
Adigun also appreciated the outpouring of goodwill, prayers, telephone calls and messages of support he had received since the announcement of his appointment, saying he did not take the gesture for granted.
He prayed that Allah would ease the affairs of the people and grant them success in all their endeavours.
The ODU statement was jointly signed by the National President, Dr. Monisoye Afolabi, and the National Publicity Secretary, Mustafa Abubakar.
