The Omupo community in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State is mourning the passing of one of its illustrious sons, Alhaji AbdulFatai Aremu Balogun who died early this morning.

Oba Muhammed-Yakubu Adebayo Buari said he received with deep shock and sadness the untimely death of his Balogun.

“The death of Balogun is particularly hurting to all of us in view of his decades of extensive hard work, unsurpassed philanthropy, commitment, and support for the growth as well as social and economic prosperity and development of Omupo people and Omupo land”, said the monarch.

Kabiyesi explained that Balogun has left behind for him and the people of Omupo a larger-than-life role which nobody can fill. This includes the invaluable support that he has been providing to him and the throne for decades.

Kabiyesi condoles with all sons and daughters of Omupo, the Alhaji A. K. Aremu family, members of Oluoko Family, and the Omupo Muslim Ummah on this huge irreparable loss.

Many citizens are also expressing regret on the demise of Alhaji Fatai. Some of the condolence messages of a group WhatsApp reads: “My family sincere condolence to the family of Balogun, Kabiyesi Olomu of Omupo, entire Omupo community, on the sudden loss of our dear Balogun Alhaj Abdul Fatai Aremu, one of the greatest philanthropist. May Allah in His infinite mercy, accept him into Alijanat Fridaus. May Allah take care of all the family he left behind. Ameen.”

“What a great and painful loss to us at Omupo, may Almighty Allah rest his soul in perfect peace, forgive his shortcomings, reward his good deeds with Aljannah Firdaus, and grant fortitude to his immediate family and entire family, and the entire people of Omupo town the fortitude to bear his irreparable loss. Aameen. Surat Iklas x 3 for him and all our Muslim departed souls. Aameen.”

“May Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him peace perpetual. He certainly left an enviable legacy in Omupo community and Kwara State.”

The people of Omupo continue to mourn the passing of a man remembered for his generosity, humility, and lasting contributions to the community.
