The Police in Plateau State is investigating possible involvement of one Yakubu Abdullahi arrested with fake army uniform and identify card as part of gunmen who attacked Agwan Rukuba last Sunday.
Similarly, troops working to restore peace in the troubled Jos North Local Government Area, in a targeted operation at Dutse Uku community, apprehended two individuals masquerading as security operatives while participating in arson and violence.
He said the suspects, dressed in tactical black uniforms, are currently in custody, while two persons with gunshot wounds are receiving medical attention.
In a separate operation in Karem, Wase Local Government Area, troops disrupted a large-scale movement of terrorists, neutralising three insurgents.

Oteh said the success followed the strategic deployment of specialised counter-terrorism troops, bolstering the state’s security architecture.
He said, “At approximately 11:45 pm, vigilant troops responding to a distress call on sporadic shooting at Dutse Uku general area intercepted and apprehended 2 individuals masquerading as security operatives. These impostors, dressed in tactical black uniforms, were caught actively participating in the arson of residential properties and the orchestration of violence within the Community.”
The statement urged the general public to maintain a high level of situational awareness and support ongoing efforts by reporting any suspicious individuals or activities to the nearest authorities.
“Through continued cooperation and the current strategic offensive, the military remains committed to ensuring the permanent restoration of safety and order for all citizens,” the statement added.
