A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to Nigerian entrepreneur Linus Williams Ifejirika, popularly known as BLord, in an impersonation case involving social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan, VDM.

BLord had been remanded at Kuje Correctional Centre since April 1, 2026, spending 16 days in custody, including the Easter holiday period.

Following the allegations linked to impersonation, forgery, and misuse of identity in a high-profile dispute involving social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan.

The case, which has generated widespread attention across social media, stems from claims that BLord used the activist’s identity and image in promotional materials without consent, allegations that intensified an already heated online feud between both figures.

The court had earlier ordered his remand pending further proceedings, a development that drew mixed reactions from the public and key commentators in Nigeria’s digital space.

Activist and former presidential candidate Omolere Sowore made this known in a terse statement on his official Facebook account on Friday, said the court ordered Blord to deposit his international passport as part of his bail conditions.

“Bail has been granted to Linus Williams, popularly known as @mrblordofficial BLORD, on self-recognizance. The court, however, ordered that he deposit his international passport as part of the bail conditions,” he wrote.

Recall that Blord was ordered to be remanded in prison on April 1, 2026.

The dispute stems from allegations by VDM that BLord impersonated him by using his image and brand identity to promote business ventures without consent.

During the bail hearing, VDM’s legal counsel withdrew a counter-affidavit previously filed in opposition to the bail application, indicating no further objection.

The defense had anchored its bail application on constitutional provisions and the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, ACJA, supported by a seven-point argument and a 10-paragraph affidavit urging the court to exercise discretion in favour of bail.

He, however, said the court ordered Blord to deposit his international passport as part of his bail conditions.

With no objection from the prosecution, Justice Ofili-Ajumogobia adjourned to April 27 for hearing.
