10 firms dominate equities market with N950m deals

Accounting for 52.37 per cent of total trade value.

Ten stockbroking firms on the Nigerian Exchange Ltd. recorded transactions worth N949.899 billion in April 2026 to reinforce their dominance in the equities market during the review period.

According to the NGX broker performance report, the firms accounted for 52.37 per cent of total trade value.

The leading firms were Cardinal stone Securities, Cordros Securities, Stanbic IBTC Stockbrokers, EFG Hermes Nigeria and Meristem Stockbrokers.

Others included First Securities Brokers, Coronation Securities, United Capital Securities, Lambeth Capital and QCapital Ltd.

The report stated, “Cardinal stone Securities led the market with transactions valued at N321.994 billion.”

Cordros Securities followed with N124.064 billion, while Stanbic IBTC Stockbrokers posted trades worth N104.198 billion.

EFG Hermes Nigeria recorded N96.103 billion, while Meristem Stockbrokers and First Securities Brokers posted N81.022 billion and N49.966 billion.

Coronation Securities recorded N47.001 billion, while United Capital Securities posted N45.137 billion.

Lambeth Capital and QCapital completed the top ten, with transactions valued at N41.117 billion and N39.298 billion.

The report added, “The firms traded a combined 16.194 billion shares in April.”

This represented 47.63 per cent of the total trading volume recorded on the exchange.

Meanwhile, the stock market posted a historic monthly gain of N26.185 trillion in April.
