Kogi State Goernor Ahmed Ododo has lauded the appointment of Amb. Sola Enikanolaiye, as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, by President Bola Tinubu.

The governor in his congratulatory message to Enikanolaiye described the gesture as ‘a proud moment for the people of the state’.

Ododo, in a statement signed by Mrs. Folashade Ayoade, Secretary to the State Government, on Tuesday, expressed the appreciation of the government and good people of the state on the appointment, adding that it is well deserved.
Ododo noted that Enikanolaiye‘s foreign service trajectory had taken him through responsibilities in Ethiopia, Serbia, Canada, the United Kingdom and India.
This, he added, was apart from postings to the headquarters of the Foreign Affairs Ministry and the State House, Abuja.
“This historic nomination is a proud moment for Kogi State and a well-deserved recognition of your over three decades of distinguished diplomatic service.

“Your impressive record as Permanent-Secretary, key postings in Addis Ababa, Belgrade, Ottawa, London, New Delhi and recent role as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs, speaks to the depth of experience you bring to this national assignment.
“We are confident that your leadership will strengthen Nigeria’s foreign policy architecture and advance the nation’s interests on the global stage. Once again, congratulations,” he said.
The governor assured Enikanolaiye of unwavering support and prayers of the people of Kogi, as he undertook this significant responsibility.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Enikanolaiye earned a First-Class degree in Political Science from the Ahmadu Bello University, ABU, Zaria, in 1981.

He posted a Distinction upon completing his Master of International Law and Diplomacy, from the University of Lagos in 1991.

He was also conferred with a Distinction in a Postgraduate programme in Diplomatic Studies, at the University of Oxford, in 1991.

Enikanolaiye, a recipient of multiple scholarships and awards at home and abroad, is married and blessed with children.
