The Kwara State Police Command in collaboration with the State Coordinator of the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices, POCACOV, has carried out a sensitization programme for students of Baptist Secondary School, Ilorin.
The awareness campaign was part of ongoing efforts to educate students on the dangers of cultism, cybercrime, drug abuse, bullying, examination malpractice, sexual harassment and other social vices.
Addressing the students, Command Spokesperson, SP Ejire-Adeyemi urged them to remain law-abiding, avoid bad company and resist negative peer pressure. She also stressed the importance of discipline, moral values, hard work and commitment to academic pursuits.

ASP Ibrahim Muritala and Inspector Femi Rotimi delivered lectures on cybercrime, warning students against internet fraud, cyberbullying, identity theft, hacking and online scams. They encouraged the responsible use of social media and technology.
During the interactive session, students were also enlightened on bullying and sexual harassment, with speakers urging them to speak up against abuse and promptly report suspicious behaviour.
The management, staff and students of both schools commended the Kwara State Police Command and the POCACOV team for the impactful programme, which ended with renewed commitments by the students to shun criminal activities and become responsible members of society.
