Nigeria international Shukurat Oladipo has been named Serie A Femminile Best Defender of the Season after an impressive campaign with AS Roma Women.
The 21-year-old received the award during a gala ceremony on Monday night and was also included in the Serie A Women’s Team of the Season following her performances in Roma’s title-winning campaign.
Oladipo played a major role as Roma secured their third league title in four seasons.
The Nigerian defender joined the Italian club from Robo Queens in February 2025 and quickly established herself as one of the standout defenders in the league.
She made 18 league appearances during the season, starting 15 matches and helping Roma build one of the strongest defensive records in the division.

Roma remained unbeaten in every league game Oladipo featured in and recorded 12 clean sheets during the campaign.
Across her 18 appearances, the defender played 1,398 minutes and contributed 27 interceptions, 27 successful tackles, 70 clearances and 104 ball recoveries.
She also helped Roma keep eight clean sheets in matches she featured in.
Roma’s dominance during the season was further reflected in the Team of the Season selections, with Oladipo joined by teammates Manuela Giugliano, Giada Greggi and Giulia Dragoni.
The defender’s rise in Europe follows her success with Nigeria at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, where she was part of the Super Falcons squad that won the continental title in July 2025.
Oladipo is now expected to play a key role as Roma prepare for the Coppa Italia Femminile final against Juventus on May 24.
The Italian champions are aiming to complete a domestic double before Oladipo links up with Nigeria again for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations campaign.
