World Archery confirms five appointments including Mohammed Baba Abdulahi of Nigeria Archery Federation to its Commonwealth Games Committee.

Tony Nezianya, Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Olympic Committee, said the appointment signals push for greater Nigerian global representation ahead of competitions.

Nezianya said Mohammed Baba Abdulahi, also Deputy Secretary-General of Nigeria Olympic Committee, received appointment via letter dated May 15 to Robert Fiddyment and Raul Calin.

World Archery Executive Board roster includes Abdullahi, Karl Balisch, Trina Roberts, Ainsley Ward, and Virendra Sachdeva, representing different continents and expertise.

In addition, Juan Carlos Holgado will continue as federation liaison staff member for the committee. World Archery Secretary General Raul Calin said the federation looks forward to members contributing to committee activities, stating “We look forward to their contributions”.

NOC said appointments come at crucial time as federation advocates archery inclusion in Commonwealth Games programmes.

This will ensure top-tier technical oversight and governance from experienced global administrators, NOC added.
