The Adeosun family has announced the passing of Anthony Adeniyi Adeosun, husband of former Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, at the age of 62.
Adeosun died in Lagos on August 5, 2026, according to a statement issued by Reverend C. A. Adeosun on behalf of the family.
The statement described him as a businessman, devoted Christian, husband, father and brother whose life was marked by service to God, family and community. The family said it received his death with “profound sorrow” while remaining committed to the will of God.
According to the statement, Adeosun was known for his integrity, generosity and steadfast Christian faith, adding that he maintained a strong commitment to his family and community throughout his life.

He is survived by his wife, Kemi Adeosun, who served as Nigeria’s Minister of Finance from November 2015 to September 2018, his children, his brother Adewale Adeosun, founder of Kuramo Capital, an investment management firm, and his other siblings.
The family said Adeosun’s death had left a significant void among relatives, friends, associates and members of his community who knew him.
In mourning his passing, the family drew comfort from the Christian faith, quoting Revelation 14:13, which speaks of those who “die in the Lord” and rest from their labours.
The family has appealed for privacy as it mourns the loss and said details of the funeral and Christian burial arrangements would be announced at a later date.
It also expressed appreciation to friends, associates and well-wishers who had reached out with prayers, condolences and support following his death. The family concluded by entrusting Adeosun’s soul to God and praying for his eternal rest.
