Women groups under the Forum of 2027 APC Female Aspirants and Candidates Network, FAFAN, and Traditional and Religious Women Leaders Network, TARWLN, have unveiled “Project 4+4 for Tinubu/Shettima 2027”, aimed at mobilizing women across the country to support their re-election in 2027.
The initiative was unveiled at the Maryam Babangida National Women Development Centre in Abuja, with women leaders and supporters from across the country, the Federal Capital Territory and the diaspora participating in the event.
The groups said the project would focus on mobilizing women at the grassroots and encouraging greater participation in the political process ahead of the 2027 elections.
Speaking at the event, the Director-General of the Tinubu Support Group, TSG, Dr Umar Yakassai, said the organization was committed to transforming the group into a pan-Nigerian campaign platform capable of mobilizing support for Tinubu’s re-election.
Yakassai said the TSG was also prepared to collaborate with other pro-Tinubu support groups, stressing that unity and coordination would be necessary to achieve their political objectives.
He listed what he described as improvements recorded under the Tinubu administration, including increased foreign reserves, higher allocations to states and growth in the nation’s Gross Domestic Product.
“Our GDP was not growing fast, and Nigeria was having a very low foreign reserve, and many of our states were unable to pay their salaries.
“Today, our foreign reserve has grown from 3.89 billion dollars to over 50 billion dollars, we have money going to the states and state allocation has gone almost three times and states are even paying salaries,” he said.
The TSG director-general also highlighted government interventions in the education sector, particularly the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, NELFUND, saying the initiative had enabled more students to access higher education.

He also pointed to the Federal Government’s local government autonomy policy, describing it as an effort to ensure that more resources reach communities at the grassroots.
Yakassai urged Nigerians to support Tinubu for a second term, arguing that continuity would enable the administration to consolidate its reforms and further implement its Renewed Hope Agenda.
The National Convener of FAFAN, Princess Nikky Oyenri, said women across the country were prepared and mobilized to support the Tinubu/Shettima ticket in the 2027 election.
Oyenri said members of FAFAN and TARWLN had gathered from the 36 states, the FCT and the diaspora, including the United States and United Kingdom, to endorse the ticket.
She said the unveiling of ‘Project 4+4’ represented the beginning of a broader mobilization and support campaign, adding that the networks would also commence a nationwide donation drive to sustain the initiative.
Also speaking, Hadiza Ujah, a former House of Representatives aspirant, described the project as a positive development and called for increased participation of women in Nigerian politics.
Ujah said women needed to become more actively involved in political processes and urged them to mobilize in support of the president while also advocating greater representation in elective and appointive positions.
She appealed to President Tinubu and the First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, to promote the implementation of the 35 per cent affirmative action being advocated for women.
“I am appealing to our president and our First Lady, Remi Tinubu, so that we can embark on the 35 per cent affirmative action that we have been appealing for,” she said.
Ujah maintained that greater inclusion of women in politics would strengthen governance and ensure that women had a stronger voice in decision-making.
In her remarks, Dr Aminah Ibrahim, National Welfare Officer, said Tinubu deserved a second term to ensure continuity in the implementation of his programmes and policies.
Ibrahim said the administration had introduced several programmes that required continuity to achieve their intended objectives, adding that another term would provide an opportunity to consolidate existing initiatives.
The women leaders reaffirmed their commitment to mobilizing support for the Tinubu/Shettima ticket and expanding the ‘Project 4+4’ campaign across communities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
