Barcelona made a flying start to their 2026/27 UEFA Champions League campaign with a commanding 5-1 victory over Feyenoord at the Spotify Camp Nou on Wednesday.

Hansi Flick’s side wasted little time asserting their authority, with Raphinha opening the scoring after just three minutes. The Brazilian finished a swift Barca attack to give the hosts an early advantage and set the tone for a dominant evening.

Barcelona continued to control possession and create opportunities, with Feyenoord struggling to contain the home side’s movement and attacking pressure.

Karim Adeyemi doubled Barca’s advantage in the 22nd minute, giving the hosts a 2-0 lead before the interval. The Catalan side went into half-time firmly in control of the contest.

Raphinha added his second goal of the night in the 57th minute to further underline Barcelona’s superiority. His brace made him one of the standout performers of the match as Barcelona continued to threaten the Feyenoord defence.

Feyenoord managed to pull one goal back through Sem Steijn in the closing stages, briefly giving the visitors hope of reducing the deficit.

However, Barca responded almost immediately. Lamine Yamal restored the four-goal advantage in the 77th minute before Gabriel Jesus completed the scoring eight minutes later.

The result gave Barca a convincing opening victory in the league phase and extended their impressive early season run. The Spanish side had also beaten Valencia 5-0 in La Liga just three days earlier.

Raphinha’s performance was particularly notable, with the forward continuing his excellent scoring form at the beginning of the campaign. He now has eight goals in five matches this season, according to reports following the Feyenoord victory.

Yamal also played an important role in Barca’s attacking display, combining his creativity with his ability to take on defenders and create openings for his teammates.

Gabriel Jesus marked his home debut for Barcelona with a goal, adding another positive note to an already impressive night for Flick’s team.

Barcelona’s performance also highlighted the depth and attacking quality available to Flick as the club begins its European campaign with ambitions of challenging for the Champions League title.

Feyenoord, meanwhile, struggled to cope with Barcelona’s intensity and attacking movement for much of the match. Despite Steijn’s late consolation goal, the Dutch side were unable to prevent Barcelona from securing a comprehensive victory.

Barca will now turn their attention back to La Liga, where they face Levante on Sunday. Feyenoord will also return to domestic action when they travel to face Zwolle.

For Barcelona, however, the emphatic victory provides an early statement of intent in Europe and gives Flick’s side considerable confidence heading into the next stage of their Champions League campaign.
