Kim Kardashian has been diagnosed with esophagitis, a condition that causes inflammation and swelling of the oesophagus.
A trailer for the eighth season of ‘The Kardashians’ reveals that Kim was hospitalized to undergo tests and treatment. Diagnostic tests typically include an endoscopy in which a camera is inserted into the throat.
The significance of the medical scare hit the family hard, as her father, Robert Kardashian, died of oesophageal cancer in 2003 at the age of 59. Both Kim and her mother, Kris Jenner, were seen crying in the preview.

While esophagitis is relatively common, in some cases, it can lead to Barrett’s oesophagus, “in which the normal lining of the oesophagus is replaced by one prone to cancer.”
Since her father’s death, Kim and her family have been working to raise awareness of oesophageal cancer and helped open the UCLA Robert G. Kardashian Center for Oesophageal Health in his memory.
Kim Kardashian is so much more than just a successful media personality and socialite. She’s also a fashion icon and one who constantly turns heads with her bold outfit choices.
