Arise News Channel has stopped featuring political analyst Anthony Kila following allegations that he falsified his academic credentials, citing an investigative report by Premium Times.
The channel announced the decision in a disclaimer issued by its Editorial Board titled “Investigation: Anthony Kila’s ‘Degrees’”.
Arise News said it contacted Kila on the 3rd of October over the allegations and gave him additional time to respond, but he had yet to provide a response 10 days later.
The channel said the allegations had worsened, making Kila’s continued contributions to its programmes untenable.

“Arise News was unaware of these allegations at the time Anthony Kila appeared on our platform,” the channel said, adding that it takes matters of credibility and integrity extremely seriously.
It said it had taken note of the findings of the Premium Times investigation and that Kila would no longer appear on its platforms, effective immediately.
The channel did not specify when or whether Kila would be given an opportunity to respond to the allegation.
