High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has donated 25 vehicles to the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement in Kogi State to mobilise grassroots support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

Tompolo, who is Grand Patron of the Movement, announced the donation through the Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, Mr Kestin Pondi, at the inauguration of the movement’s Kogi State structure in Lokoja on Monday.

Pondi said the vehicles would aid the campaign to take Tinubu’s message to voters ahead of the presidential election.

He argued that the President had shown courage by removing petrol subsidy, supporting direct allocation to local governments and allowing states to regulate electricity, reforms he said had increased resources for salaries, pensions and projects.

He urged members to take the message to homes, workplaces, churches and markets, and to give Tinubu another four years to consolidate the reforms, noting that while they had brought challenges, the country would eventually benefit.

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, who spoke at the event, commended the donation but said vehicles alone do not win elections.

“Vehicles do not win elections, but people win elections, conventions win elections and organisations win elections,” Ododo said.

He charged coordinators to explain government policies with facts, not insults, and to listen to citizens’ concerns.

The governor said Tinubu inherited serious economic challenges and chose to confront them through reforms that require continuity.

He listed projects in the state which he said enjoyed the President’s support, including the proposed Economic City and Free Trade Zone, Kogi International Airport, rehabilitation of the Abuja-Lokoja-Benin Expressway, development of universities and primary healthcare centres, road construction and empowerment programmes for farmers, youths and women.

Ododo also thanked Tinubu for supporting security operations and the push for state police, saying improved security would help farmers return to farms and businesses operate without fear.

He pledged to lead mobilisation in Kogi and urged members to engage communities peacefully.

Earlier, National Coordinator of the movement, Mr Sunday Asuku, called on residents, youths, students and farmers to mobilise support for Tinubu.

He emphasized that the reforms were vital for driving national progress, highlighting the administration’s collaboration with labour unions and its proactive measures to prevent ASUU strikes as notable achievements.

He encouraged members to intensify grassroots mobilization by campaigning door-to-door across towns, cities, and rural communities.
