Popular Nollywood actress and producer, Dayo Amusa, has secured the position of National Vice President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria,AGN, following the conclusion of the guild’s national election held in Benin City, Edo State.
Her emergence was met with wide applause from stakeholders within the industry, marking a new chapter in the leadership of the AGN and reinforcing her reputation as a committed advocate for the growth and professionalism of Nollywood.
Speaking after the announcement, Amusa described her election as a reflection of years of dedication, leadership, and service to the guild. She noted that the confidence reposed in her by AGN members would spur her to deliver purposeful and people-focused leadership.
“My emergence as the AGN National Vice President is a testament to my unwavering dedication, leadership qualities, and longstanding commitment to the growth and integrity of the Actors Guild of Nigeria,” she said.
She added that her tenure would focus on strengthening the guild’s administrative structure, promoting transparency, and introducing innovative ideas that would improve operational standards within the secretariat.
“These developments reflect the trust and confidence reposed in me by members of the guild, and I am confident that my creativity and administrative excellence will bring renewed strength to the Secretariat and elevate the guild’s operational standards,” Amusa stated.

The actress assured members that her leadership would be defined by impactful service that inspires both current and future actors within the Nigerian film industry.
Amusa, who has featured in and produced several notable films, including the popular Yoruba movie Dewunmi Iberu, said she would use her new position to advance the welfare, recognition, and professional interests of Nigerian actors and actresses.
She emphasised the need for Nollywood to take its rightful place in national development, stressing that the creative industry remains a powerful tool for cultural promotion, economic growth, and social transformation.
Beyond her achievements in film, Amusa also serves as the Vice President of the Ijebu Pride Network, an initiative that unites prominent Ijebu talents in the entertainment industry. The platform celebrates the culture, heritage, and ancestry of Ijebuland and Remoland in Ogun State.
The Ijebu Pride Network was conceived by veteran actor Bashorun Femi Branch, who serves as its President, with Amusa as Vice President.
