The ancient Kano city is getting prepared to host the second edition of Hajj–Umrah Nigeria Expo next month.

It is organized by Global Business and Investment Partnerships Forum LTD/GTE in partnership with the Nigeria-Saudi Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture with strategic support from JIBWIS, Dar Al Halal Limited and other institutional partners.

The forum will explore the theme: “Pilgrimage, Partnerships and Possibilities.”

Convener, Hajj- Umrah Nigeria Expo, Dr. Aisha Ahmed said the event is designed to strengthen the Hajj and Umrah ecosystem while unlocking new opportunities in trade, investment, innovation and economic cooperation between Nigeria and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The event is expected to bring together a broad spectrum of participants, including government institutions, Hajj and Umrah operators, airlines, hospitality providers, financial institutions, healthcare providers, technology companies, exporters, investors, religious organizations and Saudi business interests.

According to the organizers, HUN 2.0 is more than a pilgrimage-focused gathering. It is a strategic platform created to connect key players across the Hajj and Umrah value chain, improve service delivery to pilgrims, promote collaboration, and open new doors for business growth and cross-border partnerships.

“The Hajj and Umrah industry are one of the most important recurring international travel ecosystems linking Nigeria and Saudi Arabia. Beyond pilgrimage, it supports aviation, hospitality, planning, financial services, healthcare, technology, trade, real estate and halal products and services. This Expo is a unique opportunity to harness those possibilities for national and regional development,” said Dr. Ahmed.

She emphasised that the theme of the Expo reflects its central mission. “The cardinal objective underscores the need to improve pilgrim welfare and enhance the quality of Hajj and Umrah services,” said Dr. Ahmed.

“We also expect partnerships in recognition of the importance of stronger collaboration among government agencies, private sector players, religious institutions and international stakeholders,” she explained.

The organisers said the forum will explore broad opportunities emerging in investment, exports, tourism, innovation and the halal economy.

The Expo will feature high-level discussions and networking sessions focused on some of the most pressing and promising areas in the industry, including future of the Hajj and Umrah ecosystem in Nigeria; building strategic partnerships for sustainable growth; unlocking the halal economy; financing growth in the Hajj and Umrah industry as well as embracing technology and digital transformation.

In addition to its conference sessions, the Expo will provide exhibition opportunities for businesses and institutions seeking to highlight products and services, engage prospective customers, generate leads, launch new offerings and build strategic alliances.

Exhibition categories will include airlines, travel agencies, hotels, financial institutions, insurance companies, technology firms, healthcare providers, export companies, government agencies and real estate businesses.

Organizers say the event is expected to attract between 500 and 1,000 attendees, with participation from more than 50 exhibitors, over 20 sponsors and partners, 25 government agencies, 20 media organizations and about 30 Saudi participants.

The anticipated outcomes include new partnerships and agreements, stronger Nigeria–Saudi relations, enhanced investment conversations, growth in non-oil export opportunities, improved industry collaboration, and increased visibility for participating sponsors and exhibitors.

The Expo also aligns with Nigeria’s broader economic priorities, including economic diversification, trade promotion, investment attraction, job creation, tourism development, export expansion and international cooperation.

Stakeholders across the public and private sectors are being encouraged to support and participate in the event, either as sponsors, exhibitors, partners or delegates.

The organizers described the Expo as a timely and strategic intervention that will not only improve pilgrimage-related services but also deepen economic and commercial ties between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.

Hajj–Umrah Nigeria Expo 2.0 Kano 2026 promises to be a defining platform where faith meets enterprise, and where meaningful partnerships can translate into lasting possibilities.
