The Kaduna State Police Command initiated a rigorous manhunt for the assailants who took the life of National Youth Service Corps member, Grace Chalya Silas.
ASP Mansir Hassan, the spokesperson for the Command, revealed that CP Musa Yusuf Garba, the State Commissioner of Police, issued a direct order to track down the perpetrators responsible for this appalling crime against the Corps member.
Grace Chalya Silas, in the midst of her one-year mandatory national service in the state, suffered a tragic fate as she was brutally stabbed to death during her morning exercise in the Barnawa area of Kaduna South Local Government last Wednesday.
Describing the incident as “tragic,” ASP Hassan conveyed to the public that, following an emergency meeting between the Commissioner of Police and the command’s top officials, Barnawa Divisional Police Officers were swiftly dispatched to pursue the culprits.

“It’s a very tragic incident. She was engaged in her early morning exercise when a group of troublemakers on motorcycles launched a vicious attack on her.
“Upon receiving the report, our officers promptly responded and arrived at the crime scene. There, they found the victim in a pool of her own blood. She was rushed to the clinic, where her unfortunate demise was later confirmed.
“Following the report to the police, the Commissioner of Police convened an emergency meeting with the top command officials. We have maintained close communication with NYSC in the state.
“The Commissioner of Police instructed the Barnawa DPO and Area Commander to immediately pursue the culprits responsible for this brutal act and ensure they face justice,” he emphatically stressed.
