The executive chairman of Lokoja Local Government Council, Hon. Danasabe Muhammed, has passed away.
He was rushed to the hospital after collapsing at his residence late on Thursday and was confirmed clinically dead around 4:30 am on Friday at Shifa Hospital in Lokoja.
Muhammed was known for his vibrant roles in previous elections, and his death is considered a setback for the ruling All Progressives Congress in the Saturday gubernatorial election in Kogi State.
In a statement, Talba Lakwaja, the All Progressives Congress’s ,APC, public relations officer in Lokoja, confirmed the incident.
This is to inform the public that the remains of Hon. Mohammed Dasebe Mohammed, the chairman of the Lokoja Local Government Council, will be interred at the Anguwan Kura burial ground at 2 p.m., right after jummat prayer. He released a statement saying, “The body will leave his family’s home at cantonment and arrive at Lokoja Central Mosque by 1:30 pm.
He will be buried at the Unguwan Kura Muslim cemetery after Juma’at prayer. Muhammed is survived by his mother, wife, and children.
