President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has unveiled an ambitious agenda to achieve food sufficiency and transform into a net exporter of agricultural products in Nigeria

The President made these remarks during a meeting with a delegation from the Global Tijaniyya Movement, signaling a renewed focus on agricultural development and national prosperity.

Addressing the delegation led by Khalifa Muhammad Mahe Niass at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Sunday, President Tinubu emphasized the significance of revolutionizing the agricultural sector to ensure self-sufficiency in food production. He articulated a comprehensive strategy that includes expanding farmlands, providing low-interest loans to farmers, and investing substantially in irrigation infrastructure.

“We are dedicated to equipping hospitals with modern equipment, providing healthcare professionals with training, and ensuring social welfare for every citizen, including comprehensive health insurance coverage,” President Tinubu stated, underscoring the holistic approach of his administration to address various facets of national development.

The President underscored the importance of collaboration between political and spiritual leaders in advancing the nation’s interests and fostering unity among the populace. He expressed gratitude to the Global Tijaniyya Movement for their support and prayers, highlighting the collective efforts needed to build a prosperous Nigeria.

In response, Sheikh Mahe Niass, representing the delegation, lauded President Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to Nigeria’s peace, progress, and stability. He conveyed the fervent support and prayers of the Global Tijaniyya Movement to the President, expressing confidence in his leadership.

During the meeting, prayers were offered for the nation’s progress, unity, and prosperity, with a special invocation for President Tinubu’s wisdom, strength, and success in steering the country toward its objectives.

Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, reiterated the administration’s dedication to realizing its vision for agricultural transformation and overall national development.

President Tinubu’s bold initiatives reflect a determination to harness Nigeria’s agricultural potential fully and address food security challenges, signaling a new chapter in the country’s quest for self-sufficiency and economic prosperity.
