For the umpteenth time, President Muhammadu Buhari as listed the 2023 election as one of his legacies in office.
At a farewell speech Sunday night, he rated the election as free and fair because Nigerians were able to vote and ensure that they elected their choice leaders.
“Ten serving governors failed to make it to the Senate. This is unprecedented for a serving governor to loose election in his base. We should look at it positively” he said.
In his view, such feats signify that Nigerians are becoming more sophisticated using their votes and that their votes did count.
Buhari said he was happy going back to his cows and sheep’s which are more easier to control than Nigerians.
In-coming president, Bola Tinubu thanked Buhari for organising a free and fair election. He also praised the APC Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu for leading the party to victory.
Tinubu promised to seek advice from Buhari when necessary by knocking on his door in Daura.
He described the task ahead as tough, saying Nigeria has many headaches.
“I asked for the job. I am up to the task,” he told his audience at the dinner attended by Presidents of Ghana, Liberia, Niger, Chad and many other dignitaries.
