The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, announced on Wednesday, the recovery of N13 billion in diverted public funds in September.
ICPC Chairman, Dr. Musa Aliyu, SAN, hailed the recovery as a significant milestone in the commission’s ongoing battle against corruption.
At the launch of the ICPC’s Strategic Action Plan for 2024-2028 in Abuja, Aliyu underscored the commission’s progress in fulfilling its mandate, emphasizing that the N13 billion recovery reflects its relentless efforts toward accountability and transparency.
“This impressive achievement is just one example of how we have worked tirelessly to combat corruption. In addition, we are advancing ICT reforms to digitalize our operations, which will enhance efficiency in investigations, case management, and internal processes,” Aliyu stated.
He also highlighted the commission’s efforts to strengthen its workforce, including the development of a specialized curriculum to enhance the capacity of its personnel in handling complex corruption cases.
