Former Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir el-Rufai, has dismissed widespread claims suggesting he has joined the Peoples Democratic Party , PDP.

Malam Nasir el-Rufai labeled the reports as false, refuting claims that he received a PDP membership card at his polling unit in Sarki, Kaduna, as shared in a post on X ,formerly Twitter.

The unverified report of his alleged defection stirred significant online discussions, with many speculating about its potential impact on Kaduna State’s political dynamics.

In response, el-Rufai promptly addressed the issue through his official X account to clarify the situation.

“Please disregard the patent lies and rumours about my political affiliation. I have referred the lead peddlers of the fake news for further action by my lawyers,” he stated.

His denial, coupled with a threat of legal action, underscores his resolve to combat what he described as “fake news” aimed at misleading the public.

The political trajectory of the former governor has been a topic of public interest, particularly after his administration, which was defined by bold reforms and controversial decisions.

Speculations about his defection from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, were fueled by reports of his strained relationship with both federal and state governments.

Although the rumor has now been debunked, it has intensified interest in el-Rufai’s next political moves.

As the situation unfolds, the public eagerly awaits any official declarations from el-Rufai regarding his future in politics. For now, he remains steadfast in his current party affiliation.
