The Rivers State House of Assembly has called on the Department of State Services ,DSS, to investigate the state’s Chief Judge, Justice Simeon Amadi following allegations of age falsification.
The matter was raised during Thursday’s plenary, after Hon. Major Jack, the Leader of the House, presented documents to the Assembly.
Subsequently, Deputy Speaker Hon. Dumle Maol brought forward the serious accusation against the Chief Judge, stating that the documents indicated Amadi had falsified his age during his service.
“These documents before me suggest that the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Simeon Amadi, falsified his age,” Hon. Maol said. “Mr. Speaker, this is a grave allegation, and I trust this House will take legislative notice of it.”

After deliberating on the issue, the Assembly resolved to send a formal request to the Director of the DSS, asking for an investigation into the allegations and for the agency to report back with their findings.
Speaker Martin Amaewhule supported the call for an inquiry, emphasizing that the documents only point to potential age falsification and warrant further investigation.
Following a voice vote, the House officially agreed to direct the DSS to investigate the Chief Judge over the age falsification allegations.
